At Haug Partners, our Trade Secret Litigation team is comprised of trial attorneys who draw upon their legal and scientific expertise to craft strategies that protect our clients’ trade secrets. As a firm specializing in intellectual property procurement and enforcement, we have experience in protecting, enforcing, and defending our clients’ trade secrets in both state and federal courts, including counseling our clients regarding the implications of the federal Defend Trade Secrets Act of 2016, which provides a federal civil cause of action for trade secret misappropriation, and litigating disputes involving trade secret misappropriation and theft.
Our attorneys have substantial experience helping our clients protect their sensitive business information and intellectual property, and are well-equipped to provide advice and counseling on how best to protect trade secrets. The Trade Secret Litigation team advises our clients on how to identify and develop trade secrets and assess whether proprietary information should be protected under patent, trade secret, or other intellectual property laws. Haug Partners also has extensive experience in commercial and intellectual property litigation, and draws upon a wealth of technical and subject matter expertise to enforce and defend our clients’ trade secrets in state and federal courts.
We understand that early protection of our clients’ intellectual property rights is critical, and we work closely with our clients to ensure that their interests are protected and advanced by avoiding litigation whenever possible. Our team provides counseling related to research and development agreements, employee contracts, and confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, among others.
Our Trade Secret Litigation team includes attorneys who serve in a number of prominent leadership roles in the area of trade secret law, including co-chair of the New York Intellectual Property Law Association’s Trade Secret Committee. We regularly speak and write on topics related to trade secret law.
