On October 7th, Managing Partner Sandy Kuzmich moderated a discussion at the Women Influence & Power in Law (WIPL) conference in Washington, D.C. Sandy was joined by Susan Bergethon, Senior Vice President and General Counsel at TricorBraun and Gina Beredo, Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Owens Corning for their panel “Business Minded Conflict Resolution”.

The panel touched upon, at a high level, negotiating techniques in a variety of scenarios. Very useful were the real-world experiences shared by the panel and also by many WIPL conference attendees who were in the audience. The platform allowed for a frank exchange of ideas by women from in-house corporate positions and those in private practice. Included in the panel topics was a discussion about communicating virtually as opposed to in-person interactions.

“The interactive conversation between the panel and the audience provided for a great exchange of ideas as to the impact of virtual forums on negotiating strategies and techniques,” Kuzmich said, “The consensus in the room was that virtual forums are here to stay, at least in some capacity, when it comes to doing deals and negotiating settlements.”
