Associate
Aakruti G. Vakharia is an associate at Haug Partners’ New York office, where she focuses on Complex Antitrust Litigation. She has experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in complex antitrust cases, with particular expertise of the Pharmaceutical and Transportation industries.
Ms. Vakharia is also committed to giving back to the community. She is active participant in Haug Partners’ pro bono practice. She has previously served as a co-chair for the Student Outreach Committee and currently serves as a co-chair of the Litigation Committee of the Asian American Bar Association of New York, and as a co-chair of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association’s Litigation Committee. She also serves as a judge for the Thomas Tang Moot Court Competition and Fordham Law School’s trial advocacy competitions.
Prior to joining Haug Partners, Ms. Vakharia was an associate at a boutique antitrust firm where she represented direct purchaser plaintiffs in multidistrict pharmaceutical antitrust litigation. During law school, Ms. Vakharia interned for Hon. Jose L. Linares at the Federal District Court for the District of New Jersey, and spent her second summer working on real estate, bankruptcy and corporate matters.
Ms. Vakharia earned her J.D. from Fordham Law School (2018) with a concentration in Litigation and Dispute Resolution. At Fordham, she was a nationalist at the 2016 Thomas Tang Moot Court Competition and a semi-finalist at the 2018 William Tendy Trial Advocacy Competition. She also received the Archibald R. Murray Public Service Award for her work with Fordham’s Federal Litigation Clinic, and served on the executive boards of Fordham’s Asian Pacific American Law Students Association and South Asian Law Students Association.
Prior to starting law school, Ms. Vakharia spent two years working as a litigation paralegal in New York for a practice group specializing in FINRA arbitrations, securities litigation and real estate litigation. Before that, she spent two years serving on the JET Program and interning at a law firm in Osaka, Japan which specialized in multinational family law and corporate law.
