Counsel
Christopher Gosselin is Counsel at Haug Partners. Christopher is a versatile litigator, equally comfortable with complex commercial litigation, intellectual property enforcement, and strategic counseling. Christopher works with a wide range of clients across many technology and practice areas. In addition to his extensive experience with patent litigation in the mechanical, computer, and electrical arts, he frequently supports the Firm’s trademark, life sciences, antitrust, and PTAB practice groups.
Christopher helps clients efficiently navigate disputes involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, and emerging technologies. He has significant experience with patent and trademark enforcement, and has enjoyed tremendous success defending companies against patent claims brought by non-practicing entities. In addition to this litigation experience, he has counseled companies accused of over-deploying licensed software, and advised clients on issues related to IP valuation, patent landscapes, trademark infringement, and trademark/copyright fair use. Christopher is also an integral member of the firm’s International Trade Commission practice group, having protected clients on both sides of Section 337 Investigations at the ITC, where he helped obtain and enforce a General Exclusion Order, as well as the early dismissal of a complaint.
Prior to law school, Christopher worked for a robotics company, where he developed and edited engineering curriculum for technical schools. He is the co-founder of a board game publishing company, and has released an app for iOS.  This diverse background enables him to communicate effectively with engineers, inventors, and business leaders, understand some of the difficulties faced by young companies, and allows him to develop practical legal strategies aligned with clients’ commercial objectives.
Christopher earned undergraduate degrees in Mechanical Engineering and German from the University of Rhode Island’s International Engineering Program, included a semester at the Technische Universität Braunschweig, in Germany. During his time as an undergraduate, worked in both the United States and Germany. He received his Juris Doctor degree magna cum laude from the Franklin Pierce Law Center (now the University of New Hampshire School of Law), and was recognized as a SuperLawyers Rising Star for five consecutive years.
