Jon Gordon

Jon Gordon is a partner in the New York office of Haug Partners. Clients rely on his decades of experience in patent law, particularly in preparing and prosecuting patent applications involving computers and networks, artificial intelligence and data-analytics platforms, medical and bioinformatics systems, blockchains and financial applications, semiconductor and signal-processing technologies, and pharmaceutical and therapeutic innovations. His clients include major U.S. and international corporations as well as emerging companies and individual inventors. Engineers, scientists, and developers work directly with Jon to identify the essence of their inventions and to ensure that the resulting applications accurately describe and fully protect their work.

Jon is involved in all aspects of patent practice for both foreign and domestic clients, including patent litigation, patent prosecution, due diligence, client counseling, and providing opinions of counsel.

Jon taught himself to program at age 12 and went on to earn a degree in computer science. He spent several years actively developing, maintaining, and extending multi-tiered intranet and Internet applications. His experience as a derivatives trader gives him a practical understanding of how financial-technology systems function in real-world markets.
