Camille Y. Turner is a partner in the New York office of Haug Partners. Ms. Turner is involved in a wide range of the firm’s IP and Transactional work, including patent litigation, corporate transactions and licensing, and counseling involving intellectual property and technology. She works with a wide range of clients in various industries, including public companies, as well as growing technology-driven businesses and start-ups.
Ms. Turner has extensive experience in corporate transactional and licensing matters, where she advises clients on deals involving the sale and licensing of intellectual property rights; settlement and licensing arrangements; multi-tier distribution arrangements; and research, development, and consulting activities. She assists Internet services clients with service agreements and content licenses, including user-generated content, and advises clients regarding copyright protection and use.
In addition, Ms. Turner counsels clients on strategic intellectual property and technology matters, such as the development of strategies for the protection and exploitation of technologies and the enforcement of intellectual property rights and portfolio analysis, and works with clients on day-to-day operational issues relating to technology, intellectual property, electronic commerce, and privacy. Ms. Turner also has experience in all aspects of intellectual property litigation.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Turner worked within a variety of industries and extensively within academia to manage all aspects of basic and applied research portfolios from business development to closeout. She gained in-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations in the realm of soliciting funding, drafting and negotiating contracts, grants, licensing and confidentiality agreements, monitoring subrecipients as well as maintaining compliance with HIPAA and human research protection regulations, and research misconduct policies.
Ms. Turner earned her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences with a concentration in cell and molecular biology from Northwestern University. She attended Loyola University Chicago School of Law where she graduated magna cum laude, was inducted into Alpha Sigma Nu Honor Society, and was selected a Chicago Intellectual Property Colloquium Fellow. In 2018, Ms. Turner was appointed to the board of directors of Dance/NYC, and is currently the chair of the legal committee.
