Haug Partners is excited to announce the elevation of Michael Barer and Christopher Gosselin to Counsel.
Michael manages complex intellectual property proceedings spanning numerous industries, including the luxury good, fashion and financial technology sectors, among others. From multinational companies to individuals, Michael develops strategies in front of the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board to maximize brand protection and value, enforcing and expanding intellectual property rights. Michael takes the time to understand client goals and tailors his approach in adversarial proceedings to each unique circumstance.
Christopher is an integral part of the firm’s bourgeoning International Trade Commission practice group, having protected clients on both sides of Section 337 Investigations at the ITC. His ITC experience includes obtaining and enforcing a General Exclusion Order on behalf of a manufacturer and designer of protective cases for portable electronic devices, as well as securing the early dismissal of an ITC complaint brought against a major automotive company. Christopher has served as the lead associate defending numerous patent infringement claims brought by non-practicing entities in U.S. District Court. He has also represented major pharmaceutical companies in high-stakes patent litigation arising under the Hatch-Waxman Act. At present, Christopher has a perfect track record of steering early litigation towards a favorable resolution for the client.
Sandy Kuzmich, Managing Partner, noted, “We could not be prouder of Chris and Michael for this well deserved promotion. They have demonstrated superior legal skills and work ethic that has greatly benefitted our clients, our partnership and the legal community. We look forward to a continued great future at the firm.”
